Dr. Chad
Devitt

Dr. Devitt grew up on a farm in rural Iowa where he found his aspiration to become a veterinarian. After graduating from high school, he attended Iowa State University as a microbiology major, then went onto Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

He graduated from veterinary school in 1992 with honors. From veterinary school, he travel to New York City to complete an internship at the Animal Medical Center of New York City. He was awarded the president’s award for the outstanding intern (class of 1992-93)

From New York, he moved to Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital as a 3 year resident in small animal surgery (1993-96) and as a Veterinarian Surgical Oncology Fellow (1996-97). In 1997 after passing his ACVS board exams, Dr. Devitt became a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

In 1997, Dr. Devitt joined a small animal surgical specialty practice in Largo, FL. In 1999, Dr. Devitt returned to Colorado, working at the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado (VRCC). In 2001, Dr. Devitt became co-owner of the surgical practice at VRCC. While at VRCC, Dr. Devitt developed several arthroscopic, thoracoscopic, and laparoscopic surgical techniques.

Dr. Devitt, is currently enjoying a part-time retirement by kiteboarding, fly fishing, whitewater kayaking, and backcountry skiing
